Project Mogul launched trains of balloons carrying microphones to detect distant nuclear blasts. Flights originated from New Mexico and the Pacific with Navy and Army sponsorship.

  Legacy and the Roswell Debris

Flight 4 disappeared on 4 June 1947. Debris from its radar reflectors surfaced near Roswell weeks later and fueled rumors once the project remained secret. ¹²³⁴⁵
