On 23 November 1953, radar picked up an unidentified object near Soo Locks. An F-89 from Kinross AFB pursued, merging with the target on radar before disappearing.12 The incident remains unsolved and gave rise to speculation about midair collision with a UFO.345 See the Kinross AFB incident page for available reports.
