AARO FY24 Consolidated Annual Report on UAP

Report

AARO's FY24 Consolidated Annual Report on UAP is the Department of Defense's unclassified annual report to Congress under 50 U.S.C. 3373(k), listed by AARO among its 2024 congressional reports and released publicly on November 14, 2024.123

The report matters because it is the official public accounting for AARO's current UAP case flow: it covers reports from May 1, 2023 through June 1, 2024, plus older reports not included in previous annual reports, and says AARO received 757 reports in that period.13

Its core findings are mostly about sorting and limits. AARO said 485 reports involved incidents during the reporting period, 272 involved incidents from 2021 or 2022, 118 cases were resolved to prosaic objects or queued and later finalized that way, and many other cases remained unresolved or archived for lack of sufficient data.14

Readers should treat the report as a snapshot of AARO's official process, not a complete public case file. It notes collection bias near U.S. military assets and sensors, no confirmed extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology, no confirmed foreign-adversary attribution for the reported flight-safety or shadowing events, and continuing constraints from limited timely sensor data.15
