On August 7, 2026, the Department of War published the fifth release of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files as part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE). The announcement made the collection available on WAR.GOV/UFO.1

  FBI Triangle Records

The release includes FBI FD-302 interview records about reported triangular objects. The official records cover a 2002 account from Afghanistan, a 2011 account with no catalog location, and a 2023 account from Colorado Springs.2345

  Gulf of Oman Record

The release includes DOW-UAP-D101, an official Intelligence Information Report recording an AC-130 gunship crew's 2021 observation over the Gulf of Oman. The document is marked as not finally evaluated intelligence.26

  CIA and State Records

The release includes CIA records concerning a 1964 incident near Puerto Rico: CIA-UAP-D022 is a memorandum file, and CIA-UAP-D023 is briefing material prepared for Walter N. Elder. The Department of State records concern a separate 1963 incident in Bahia, Brazil, documented in diplomatic cables DOS-UAP-D001 and DOS-UAP-D002.278910
