Testimony before Congress
On July 26, 2023, former intelligence officer David Grusch testified under oath before the House Oversight Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs.1 In Room 2154, Grusch maintained his claims about classified programs recovering non-human craft and biological remains.2 He described witness intimidation and retaliation against UAP whistleblowers.3
Government response
The Department of Defense strongly contested Grusch's allegations. Pentagon Press Secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder denied any UFO cover-up program.4 AARO Director Sean Kirkpatrick called crash-retrieval claims "insulting" and stated no evidence supported such assertions.5
Congressional reaction
The hearing revealed bipartisan concerns over government transparency. Committee members expressed frustration about restricted access to classified UAP information, leading to renewed debate over whistleblower protections and oversight mechanisms.6
