High-speed crossing encounter
A Navy fighter's helmet-mounted recorder captured a compact, dark object zipping past the canopy during a 2021 training flight. Own-ship groundspeed and frame count suggest a closure rate near 450 kt, but lack of range data precluded accurate sizing. The object displayed no discernible lifting surfaces or exhaust. Absence of radar correlation or additional sensor tracks left AARO unable to classify the encounter; it remains open in the unresolved archive.
