In October 1957, Brazilian farmer Antônio Vilas-Boas claimed he was abducted by extraterrestrial beings from his tractor and taken aboard a glowing, oval-shaped craft. His detailed account, which included a physical examination and a forced sexual encounter with a female alien, made it one of the earliest and most controversial alien abduction narratives to gain widespread attention.1 The case is significant for its explicit details and the alleged physical effects experienced by Vilas-Boas following the encounter.2
The Abduction
Vilas-Boas, a 23-year-old farmer, was plowing fields at night to avoid the heat when he observed a strange red light descending from the sky. The object, described as oval-shaped, landed nearby, and he was subsequently captured by small, humanoid beings wearing helmets and grey coveralls.3 Despite his attempts to resist, he was forcibly taken aboard the craft. He described the interior as brightly lit and metallic, with various instruments and strange symbols.4
Medical Examination and Aftermath
Once inside, Vilas-Boas claimed he was stripped, covered in a gel-like substance, and subjected to a medical examination, including the extraction of blood samples from his chin.5 A controversial aspect of his testimony involves a forced sexual encounter with a female alien, whom he described as attractive with long platinum blonde hair and blue, cat-like eyes. He believed she communicated that she would raise their child in outer space.6 After being released, Vilas-Boas experienced symptoms such as nausea, weakness, headaches, and skin lesions, which were later diagnosed as mild radiation sickness.7 He maintained the consistency of his story throughout his life, and his case continues to be studied by ufologists.8
