PURSUE Release 01: FBI Photo B12

FBI

Redacted FBI still image from a U.S. military system showing an unidentified object over western mountains.

Disclosure Rating — 4/10

FBI Photo B12 is a one-page PDF in Department of War PURSUE Release 01. The release identifies it as FBI material from an incident in the Western United States in late 2025, submitted to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office as a still image derived from a U.S. military system.1

The visible image is monochrome and grainy, with a central crosshair and scale overlay. Several black redaction bars obscure parts of the frame. A small dark circular object appears in the upper-right quadrant, while an indistinct mountain range is visible along the lower background.2

The record is narrow. It shows that an operator reported being unable to positively identify the object, but the release does not include an accompanying mission report, platform details, sensor metadata, location precision, altitude, range, motion data, or analytic assessment. The visible timestamp should not be treated as the incident time because the release states that the system date and time were not set correctly.1

This matters because B12 preserves a publicly released example of FBI-submitted UAP imagery while also showing the limits of photo-only disclosure. The redactions and missing mission report leave the image useful as evidence of what was released, not as a standalone basis for identifying the object or determining its significance.
