PURSUE Release 01: FBI Photo B10

FBI

FBI still image record from PURSUE Release 01 showing a redacted reticle view over western terrain.

Disclosure Rating — 4/10

FBI Photo B10 is a one-page PDF record in the Department of War's May 8, 2026 PURSUE Release 01. The release identifies it as FBI material from late 2025 in the Western United States and describes it as a still image derived from a U.S. military system.12

The visible image is monochrome and grainy. It shows a central crosshair reticle over an indistinct mountain range, several black redaction blocks, and a small dark spot just above and right of the reticle center. A timestamp is visible at lower left, but the release says the date shown in the image is incorrect because the system date and time were not set.23

  Redacted Frame, Missing Context

The release metadata says the original imagery was altered with redactions before submission to AARO, that no accompanying mission report was provided, and that the operator could not positively identify the UAP.2 Those limits matter because the public record is a single still frame, not a sequence with track history, sensor metadata, observer narrative, or operational context.

The image supports only a narrow reading: an FBI-submitted UAP report included a redacted still from a U.S. military system, and the released frame contains a small dark object-like mark near the reticle. It does not establish the object's size, distance, speed, altitude, exact location, time, origin, or anomalous nature. The release also warns that its narrative description is informational and should not be treated as an investigative conclusion about the event's validity, nature, or significance.2

  Transparency, Not Identification

Photo B10 matters as a transparency artifact rather than an identification case. It preserves the fact that an FBI-reported UAP image reached AARO and was later released with redactions, while also showing how little can be inferred when a public release provides an isolated frame without the report that normally explains collection circumstances.123
