Disclosure Rating — 4/10

  Late-2025 FBI Image Report

The Department of War's May 8, 2026 PURSUE Release 01 identifies FBI Photo A2 as an FBI image record released as an IMG item. The release metadata lists the incident date as Late 2025 and the incident location as N/A, while the accompanying description says the exact date and location of the event were not provided.1

According to the release description, the Federal Bureau of Investigation submitted a UAP report to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office using a still image derived from a U.S. government system. The source imagery was redacted before submission, no accompanying mission report was provided, and the operator reported being unable to positively identify the object.1

  Photo A2 Reticle Still

The released image is a monochrome frame with a central crosshair reticle, several black redaction bars, and a mottled background that could be terrain or another textured surface. A dark circular mark sits at the center of the reticle. The visual record supports only that a dark object or image feature appears in the frame; it does not establish the object's size, distance, speed, altitude, origin, or physical nature.2

  What Photo A2 Cannot Show

FBI Photo A2 matters because it separates release handling from visual interpretation. The government release documents an FBI-submitted UAP report, a redacted image source, and an unresolved operator identification. It does not provide the mission report, sensor details, precise location, or enough image context to determine whether the circular feature is an object, an artifact, or something else.12
