History

AARO announced a second historical UAP report covering post-November 2023 information; its official publications index still lists only Volume 1.

Disclosure Rating — 7/10

  Announced Scope

On March 8, 2024, the Department of Defense announced that AARO would publish a second Historical Record Report volume.1 The announcement said Volume 2 would analyze information acquired after November 1, 2023, including interviews with current and former United States government personnel who contacted AARO through its secure reporting mechanism.1

  Current Publication Status

As of August 27, 2026, AARO's official congressional and press products index lists Volume 1 as its only Historical Record Report and contains no Volume 2 entry.2 The same index includes newer material through the Fiscal Year 2025 UAP annual report added on July 20, 2026.2

Official AARO and Defense Department sources therefore continue to support a forthcoming status.12 No publication date, report contents, or findings are attributed to Volume 2 on this page.12
