HarperCollins published Luis Elizondo's memoir Imminent: Inside the Pentagon's Hunt for UFOs on August 20, 2024.1 The publisher presents the book as Elizondo's account of government UAP work and resistance he says he encountered inside the Pentagon.1
Prepublication Review
The Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review reviews manuscripts submitted by current and former cleared Defense Department personnel before public release.2 Defense Department correspondence released under the Freedom of Information Act shows that Elizondo's manuscript was under review and that Christopher Mellon's foreword was reviewed alongside it.3
Claims in the Book and Interviews
In a direct interview promoting the memoir, Elizondo alleged that the United States had retrieved vehicles of unknown origin and biological specimens.4 These statements are presented here as Elizondo's claims.4
