  Incident Record

Brazil's National Archives identifies May 19, 1986, as the date of the episode known as the Night of the UFOs.1 In October 2015, the archive released 16 recordings from the third transfer of its UFO collection, including eight recordings of conversations among pilots, air traffic controllers, and Brazilian air-defense personnel that night.1

  Official Archive

An official 2017 Imprensa Nacional article describes the National Archives holdings on the episode as reports, news reproductions, forms, and testimony, most of them produced by the Brazilian Air Force.2

The same article cautions that the Brazilian Air Force and other institutions did not identify the recorded events as extraterrestrial or intelligent.2 It notes that some Air Force reports used the expression "intelligent behavior."2
