The document was declassified and released publicly for the first time as part of PURSUE Release 05 on August 7, 2026. [^1][^2][^3]\n\n<PDF src=\"https://www.war.gov/medialink/ufo/080726/release_05/documents/DOW-UAP-D104.pdf\" />\n\n## Provenance and Content\n\nThe Department of War filed this debrief after carrier-based pilots reported visual contact with unidentified aerial phenomena while operating in the same airspace as a U.S. maritime patrol aircraft. A Naval aviation safety officer took the pilots' accounts and logged the incident as an aviation safety matter.[^3]\n\nThe aviators described luminous objects that held station with the maritime patrol aircraft. The debrief notes no visible propulsion exhaust and no conventional aerodynamic surfaces on the objects. It does not identify what they were.[^3]\n\n## References\n\n[^1]: [Department of War PURSUE page](https://www.war.gov/UFO/#release)\n[^2]: [Department of War PURSUE data file (uap-data.csv)](https://www.war.gov/Portals/1/Interactive/2026/UFO/uap-data.csv)\n[^3]: [DOW-UAP-D104, Naval Aviation Safety Officer Debrief, Arabian Sea, 2021 remote release asset](https://www.war.gov/medialink/ufo/080726/release_05/documents/DOW-UAP-D104.pdf)","readingTime":"1 min read"},"relatedRecords":[],"citation":{"canonicalUrl":"https://disclosdex.com/documents/2026-pursue-release-05-012-dow-uap-d104-naval-aviation-safety-officer-debrief-arabian-sea-2021","title":"DOW-UAP-D104, Naval Aviation Safety Officer Debrief, Arabian Sea, 2021","publisher":"Disclosdex","retrievedFrom":"https://disclosdex.com/api/v1/documents/2026-pursue-release-05-012-dow-uap-d104-naval-aviation-safety-officer-debrief-arabian-sea-2021","license":"CC-BY-4.0"}}
